Six Halloween Weekends Because One Night Is Frankly Disrespectful
Parents buy the costume in September. They buy the candy in early October, then buy it again in late October, because the first bag did not survive contact with the adults in the house.
All of that funds exactly one night. Ninety minutes of walking. A kid who wants to go home after four houses.
That math has never worked.
Jellystone Park™ West Georgia is doing six weekends of Halloween. September 25 through November 1. Six.
And the park is open on actual Halloween. Not “Halloween, but the 18th.” Families can trick-or-treat here on October 31, which lands on a Saturday this year, then wake up November 1 in a cabin carpeted in wrappers.
That 12-foot skeleton in the garage finally has six weekends of work.
Halloween Camping in Georgia: All Six Weekends
Some families come for the candy. Some come for the costumes. Some come to spend four hours decorating an RV site and then announce, standing directly in front of a working fog machine, that they “didn’t even go big this year.”
Every weekend opens with the Magic Pumpkin Patch Ceremony on Friday night and has a trail waiting after dark. Everything else rotates.
- September 25 to 27: Campfire Fright Fest. Creepy tales around the fire, a s’mores roast, the Campsite Decorating Contest, and the Monster Costume Bash and Dance Party, where kids debut costume one of roughly four. Then the Haunted Trail. No trick-or-treating.
- October 2 to 4: Haunted Hallows Eve. Witch’s Woods Trick-or-Treat, the Magic Pumpkin Patch, and an Enchanted Costume Ball where kids turn up as superheroes, princesses, or that one hyper-specific character they have been explaining since August. The Haunted Trail closes it out. Trick-or-treating.
- October 9 to 11: Frights, Bites, and Chilly Nights. The Spooktacular Site Decorating Contest, the Midnight Marshmallow Monster Roast, and the Twilight Terror Trail. Live music Saturday, October 10 from 7 to 9 PM: Dalton Dailey, with seventeen-year-old Will Finley-Smith opening. Free for resort guests. No trick-or-treating.
- October 16 to 18: Monster Mash and Moonlight Bash. The Goblins and Glowsticks Night Wagon Ride, the Monster Mash Dance Party, the Costume Contest Under the Stars, and then, because somehow there is battery left, the Haunted Trail. No trick-or-treating.
- October 23 to 25: Ghosts and Goblins. Goblin Games and Grub Fest, the Ghostly Glow Hunt, and the Trick-or-Treat Trail, where kids show remarkable stamina for people who were “too tired to walk” at 2 PM. Trick-or-treating.
- October 30 to November 1: Halloween Spooktackler. The finale, running straight through Halloween itself. Trick-or-Treat Trail of Terror, Howl-O-Ween Light Parade, Monster Mash Dance Party, pumpkin decorating, hayrides, costume contests, campsite decorating and s’mores. Trick-or-treating.
Heads up for anyone whose kid is in this purely for the candy: trick-or-treating runs on three of the six weekends. October 2 to 4, October 23 to 25, and the finale.
One more thing about that finale. Trick-or-treating through a gated campground where every site is decorated and every neighbor is thrilled to see a kid in costume beats walking a dark subdivision where three houses are home and one is handing out pennies. No cars. No driveways. Nobody out of candy by 7:15.
It books first. Every year.
The Halloween Fun Pass, or How to Stop Saying No All Weekend
The Halloween Fun Pass is $79.56, which is 20% off buying everything separately at $99.45.
It includes the Magic Pumpkin Patch, gem mining, a s’mores package, a bear plush, a tie-dye shirt, a ceramic mug, a donut bucket, a slush with souvenir cup, and cotton candy.
That covers an entire weekend of “can I get one” in a single transaction. No mental math while a child maintains uninterrupted eye contact.
Golf cart rentals are also worth adding in advance, because walking the whole park in a full costume is a choice, and not a good one.
What About Cold October Nights?
This is where a heated cabin starts sounding extremely reasonable.
Every cabin at Jellystone Park™ West Georgia is heated and includes a private bathroom, a full kitchen with a refrigerator, four-burner stove and oven, and microwave, plus cookware, dishes and linens already on the beds.
That bears repeating: private bathroom. No 2 AM flashlight walk to the bathhouse in a costume and one shoe.
The covered wagon is heated as well, with its own private bathroom and linens provided. It looks like something out of 1875 and is considerably more comfortable than that sentence suggests.
Families bring groceries and clothes. That is the entire packing list.
RV campers get a site that becomes part of the event during the decorating weekends. That skeleton deserves a lawn chair and a compelling backstory.

One Costume. Six Weekends. Zero Regrets.
There is no wrong weekend. There is only the weekend that matches a family’s particular flavor of Halloween chaos.
Six weekends sounds like plenty of runway. Then the cabins go, the good RV sites go, and the group chat spends four business days debating dates before producing a calendar poll that two people answer.
Skip that part.

Pick the weekend now. The costume is a problem for a future version of these parents, and frankly, they have handled worse.
